Electric and autonomous vehicles surge will lead to a revolution in the Automotive Supply Chain"

In order to meet the rising demand for electric and autonomous vehicles, the automotive industry must reevaluate its supply chains, says Tom Cullen, the chief analyst at Transport Intelligence. Although there have been some indications of changes in the OEMs' supply networks, Cullen contends that a more fundamental transition is currently in progress.

Cullen emphasises how the transition to electric propulsion and autonomous guidance systems fundamentally changes the nature of automobiles, hence calling for a completely redesigned supply chain. Failure to recognise and adjust to this transition might make it more difficult to source the required parts.
