UK plans to postpone start of checks on EU imports

Once again, the UK government has opted to postpone import checks, according to reports conveyed to port health authorities.

The Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) recently disclosed the fees for plant and animal product imports via Dover and Eurotunnel, scheduled to take effect on April 30th. However, citing the potential for "significant disruption," Defra has now signalled a delay in implementing these checks as planned.
