AIR

• Air export and import are moving fairly smoothly.  
• Rates are stable at the moment.  
• Los Angeles to Asia: Some flights carry fruit at this time of year, which takes priority over general cargo. In some cases, we are seeing flights from Thursday to Saturday having limited space availability. 

OCEAN

U.S. West Coast:  

• Export from Los Angeles / Long Beach is moving better when compared to May and June.  
• Import is currently experiencing slight congestion due to the extended two-day Independence Day (July 4) holiday closure.  
• On June 14, the ILWU & PMA reached a tentative agreement. The agreement has yet to be ratified by both parties. When finalized, the agreement will be effective for six years. 

Canadian West Coast Strike: ILWU Canada members have been on strike at the Ports of Vancouver and Prince Rupert over labor contract negotiations with the British Columbia Maritime Employers Association. 

• The work stoppage started on July 1, halting cargo transiting the ports.  
• Primary dispute points are automation, contracting out workers, and wages.  
• A federal mediator is involved, with both sides having until today to ratify an agreement.  
• Ocean carriers are re-routing cargo to the nearby ports of Seattle and Tacoma, if possible. For cargo originating near the East Coast, cargo is diverted to the Ports of Halifax or New York. 
• Containers caught in the middle may be delayed anywhere from 10-60 days. 

Candian West Coast Strike Update: The strike at Canada's West Coast ports has come to an end today. The labor union and port ownership accepted a deal by federal mediators.

• Due to the congestion, the 13-day strike will have a lasting effect on ports.
• Delays can extend from a month to an estimated two months for a U.S. arrival.

Panama Canal: Low water levels persist in the canal. On the positive side, the canal authority has postponed further draft reductions for the time.
