By In USA Trade Alerts On 20th July 2021

March 29, 2021 - The U.S. Trade Representative announced the suspension of all U.S. engagement with Burma on March 29th following
a military coup and violence against civilians.

This suspension will remain in effect until the return of a democratically elected government.

This action does not halt trade, only the efforts to normalize trade relations.

This could potentially impact future eligibility for Generalized System of Preferences(GSP) program
when reauthorized.
