Intermodal Woes

By In Insight On 14th July 2022

Total intermodal volumes for Q1 2022, rose 2.6% over 2021.

This increase has come at a cost as the Journal of Commerce reports shortages of containers, chassis, appointments, and draymen have limited capacity in many major intermodal markets like Chicago, Dallas, Memphis, and Kansas City.

These delays have caused shippers to examine new ways to move their freight, including moving time-sensitive shipments by air or utilizing trans modal moves.
