Section 301: Tariff Increases Effective Sept 27

On September 27, 2024, tariffs will increase on 366 Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS) numbers if the product is made in China. U.S. Customs will assess additional duties of either 25% (354 – HTSUS), 50% (2 – HTSUS), or 100% (10 – HTSUS.)

One HTSUS for ship-to-shore cranes may qualify for an exclusion from the increase if the imported crane fulfills contracts executed prior to May 14, 2024, and enters the United States prior to May 14, 2026.

Importers can review the list of HTSUS numbers with the associated product description, rate, and effective year by using the ‘Download’ link below. The list is provided for ease of use only. You can view a complete list of tariff increases in ‘Annex A’ of the Federal Register notice 89 FR 76581.

There will be two additional rounds of increases. The next increase will be effective January 1, 2025, and the subsequent increase will be on January 1, 2026.
