The European pharmaceutical cargo sector is thriving, driven largely by the region’s expanding role as a production centre. However, there are ongoing concerns regarding regulatory compliance within the EU that could hinder progress.

Key airports, including Frankfurt, Schiphol, Charles de Gaulle and Brussels, along with emerging hubs like Vienna, have enhanced their capabilities for handling pharmaceutical shipments. Brussels Airport, in particular, has won several important tenders, positioning itself as Europe’s largest pharmaceutical export hub, with approximately 17% of its exports comprising pharma products.
