Duty-Free Importation of Solar Cells and Modules From Southeast Asia

9 June 2022

President Biden is removing tariffs for up to 24 months on the importation of certain solar cells and modules exported from Cambodia, Malaysia, Thailand, and Vietnam. The product must not already be subject to an antidumping or countervailing duty order.

This is part of a Declaration of Emergency to provide sufficient electricity generation to serve expected customer demand. The unavailability of solar cells and modules is jeopardizing new solar installations.
