On October 31, 2024, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) added three textile-related entities based in the People’s Republic of China (PRC) to the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act (UFLPA) Entity List, listing 78 entities.

Effective November 1, 2024, goods produced by the following entities will be prohibited from entering the United States:

  • Esquel Group
  • Guangdong Esquel Textile Co., Ltd.
  • Turpan Esquel Textile Co., Ltd.

Background

The Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act (UFLPA) prohibits the importation of goods into the United States manufactured wholly or in part with forced labor in China, especially from the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region (XUAR).

The UFLPA Entity List is a list of entities that are identified by the Forced Labor Enforcement Task Force (FLETF) that are prohibited from importation into the United States.
