60 - Section 301 Investigations Related to Forced Labor

On March 12, 2026, the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) announced investigations into 60 economies under Section 301(b) of the Trade Act of 1974 regarding forced labor. The investigations will determine whether acts, policies, and practices of each of these economies related to the failure to impose and effectively enforce a ban on the importation of goods produced with forced labor are unreasonable or discriminatory and burden or restrict U.S. commerce.

The USTR has requested consultations with the governments of the listed economies.
A comment period will be open from March 12, 2026 – April 15, 2026.
Hearings will begin on April 28, 2026.
