White House

On August 11, 2025, U.S. President Trump made a significant decision to suspend the higher reciprocal tariff of 34% on Chinese products (including products of Hong Kong and Macau), which was scheduled to take effect on August 12. This suspension, now in place until November 10, 2025, provides temporary relief in the U.S.-China trade relations. The baseline rate of 10% [HTSUS 9903.01.25] will remain in effect for goods made in China through November 9, 2025.

The United States continues to have discussions with the PRC to address the lack of trade reciprocity in our economic relationship and our resulting national and economic security concerns.  Through these discussions, the PRC continues to take significant steps toward remedying non-reciprocal trade arrangements and addressing the concerns of the United States relating to economic and national security matters.” – U.S. President Trump

The reciprocal tariff rate is in addition to all other duties, taxes, and fees that may apply to a product upon importation into the United States.
