Iran-Related Tariff Action Initiated

On February 6, 2026, U.S. President Trump signed an Executive Order (EO) Addressing Threats to The United States by the Government of Iran. This announcement builds on previously issued EOs directed at Iran, dating back to 1995. However, this new order is expected to “more effectively deal” with the national emergency described in the previous orders by authorizing additional duties on goods imported into the U.S. from any country that directly or indirectly purchases, imports, or otherwise acquires any goods or services from Iran.

The Secretary of Commerce and the Secretary of State will determine which countries and at what duty rate.
