Energy Products from Russia Banned

On April 8, 2022, President Biden signed into law H.R. 6968, a bill prohibiting the importation of energy products from Russia.

The energy products are classified under chapter 27 of the Harmonized Tariff Schedule.
The bill makes an exception for prior contracts or agreements.

Chapter 27 covers mineral fuels, mineral oils, and products of their distillation, bituminous substances, and mineral waxes.
