Country Restrictions

Country restrictions should be considered when exporting to a new region.

Trade Embargoes are economic sanctions that restrict doing business with certain countries. 

Licenses may be required to export shipments to the following sets of countries.

Countries currently under U.S. Embargoes:

  • Cuba
  • Iran
  • North Korea
  • Russia
  • Sudan
  • Syria

There are other trade restrictions such as additional import tariffs and/or shipment reporting requirements for exports that need to be followed under penalty of law.

If you are considering doing business in one of the embargoed countries, please check the government requirements carefully and apply for government licenses where necessary.

  • Burma
  • Cote D’Ivoire
  • Congo
  • Eritrea
  • Iran
  • Iraq
  • Lebanon
  • Liberia
  • Lybia
  • North Korea
  • Peoples Republic of China
  • Somalia

Arms Prohibited Countries:

  • Belarus
  • Cuba
  • Eritrea
  • Iran
  • North Korea
  • Syria
  • Venezuela
