2022 Cotton Fee Increase

On September 28, 2022, the Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) of the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) is amending the Cotton Board Rules and Regulations, increasing the value assigned to imported cotton for the purposes of calculating supplemental assessments on imports. Changes will take effect on November 28, 2022.
Current assessment: $0.011136/kg of imported cotton will be revised to $0.013215/kg for an increase of $0.002079/kg.
A cotton fee is collected on imports of cotton and cotton-containing products.
The Import Assessment Table contains Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) classification numbers, conversion factors, and the fee per kilogram.
